PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element for removing ammonia-nitrogen which easily and surely removes ammonia-nitrogen from a liquid such as waste water containing ammonia-nitrogen without requiring a particular device or many processes. SOLUTION: The element for removing ammonia-nitrogen is composed of a material which adsorbs ammonia-nitrogen on the surface of the element or the inner walls of open cells of its porous body. The element preferably consists of a porous material with open cells produced by partially binding a large number of granules having property of removing ammonia-nitrogen with a water-resistant binder. As for the raw material of the element for removing ammonia-nitrogen in a liquid, for example, a material essentially comprising natural zeolite is preferable. Moreover, the material preferably contains calcium carbonate or calcium phosphate, or one kind or a combination of two or more kinds selected from titanium oxide, zirconium oxide and iron oxide as a dephosphorizing agent.
