FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology, medicine, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel pyridinium salts of the general formula (I) or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts wherein R1 represents -R4-R5 or -N(R7)N(R7)R9; R4 is taken among group: wherein R6 is alkyl; R5 is taken among group: alkyl, aryl including heteroaryl, -COR7, -SO2R7, -COR10, wherein R7 is hydrogen atom, alkyl or aryl including heteroaryl; R2 is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine atom, alkyl, aryl including heteroaryl, formyl, acyl, C(O)NR7R10 or C(O)OR7,; m = 0, 1 or 2; R3 is taken among group including R7, OR7, N(R7)(R10), CH(R7)C(O)R8; R8 represents R7, OR7 and NR7R10; R9 is hydrogen atom, alkyl, aryl including heteroaryl, ; R10 is hydrogen atom or aryl including heteroaryl and in each case it differs optionally from R7; X represents halogen ion under condition that: 1) if two alkyl groups are at a single carbon or nitrogen atom then they optionally bound in common with formation of cyclic structure; and 2) nitrogen atom of heteroaryl ring R10 if it presents is optionally quaternized with such compound as X-CH2C(O)-R3. Compounds of the formula (I) show destructive AGE-activity and can be used for treatment of diabetic, nephrological, neurological diseases, atherosclerosis, eye retina injuries and dermatological diseases.
