SUBSTANCE: proposed vacuum electric arc furnace is provided with optical instrument and translucent screen of optical observation system which are located autonomously relative to each other. Translucent screen made from blast-resistant material is mounted in wall of protective box. Translucent screen is assembled from several layers of transparent material with diffuse layer between them. EFFECT: enhanced safety and reliability of visual monitoring. 2 cl, 1 dwg
