X-ray equipt. chopped supply The circuit uses a controlled rectifier nThyratron, Thyristor or Triac) in the primary circuit of the main supply transformer with a dropper. For equipment with up to 90 degrees phase shift between supply voltage and primary current a firing voltage generator synchronized with the supply mains is used which generates a firing pulse each time the supply voltage passes through zero. With the max. possible phase shift referred to, the width of these pulses covers a band during whose duration the PD across the switching element is less that that required to sustain conduction. |
