SUBSTANCE: invention relates to derivative of 3-aryl-2-hydroxypropionic acid, namely, to (S)-2-ethoxy-3-4-[2-(4-methanesulfonyloxyphenyl)ethoxy] phenyl-propionic acid of the formula (I) . Invention describes methods for preparing compound, intermediate substance used in synthesis, pharmaceutical preparation based on compound of the formula (I). Invention relates also to pharmaceutically acceptable salts, crystalline forms and solvates of compound of the formula (I). Compound is adapted for prophylaxis and/or treatment of clinical states associated with reduced sensitivity to insulin and associated with the latter metabolic disorders.
