1509767 Basic dyestuffs CIBA-GEIGY AG 6 June 1975 [7 June 1974] 24438/75 Heading C4P The invention comprises basic dyestuffs of the general formula wherein Y is a halogen atom, R 1 and R 2 are optionally substituted C 1 -C 4 alkyl or aralkyl radicals and X- is an anion. They are prepared by reacting a compound of the general formula with an aniline compound of the general formula in which formulae Y, R 1 and R 2 are as defined above in presence of a condensation agent and subsequently hydrolysing the acyloxy group. The dyes dye, print and melt dye, p.v.c., polyamides, polyurethanes, polyesters and polyacrylonitriles and its copolymers, and may be used to dye and print paper and mordanted cotton and to colour inks and oil paints.
