FIELD: biotechnology, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: binding modulating agent between polypeptide-alphad (alphad-subunit of alpha-integrin) and VCAM-1 are identified by contact of polypeptide-beta2- with amino acids sequence SEQ ID N2, 53, 55 or 103 and VCAM-1 and by detection of binding. Polypeptide-alphad or VCAM-1 are immobilized on a solid carrier and non-immobilized binding partner is labeled with detectable agent, in part, fluorescent agent. Binding detection is carried out by light emission from fluorescent agent. Invention allows the development of practical agents for therapeutic interferences with immune and inflammatory responses associated with alphad-integrin.
