<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device and pointer control method that control a pointer without actually moving a finger, and also to enable detection of click operation. <P>SOLUTION: The input device 10 transmits information associated with a pointer to a host device having a display screen displaying the pointer, and also comprises a sensor 12 for detecting contact information.
