PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid-state image pickup device having a small capacity and a high accuracy, while being equipped with a solid-state image pickup element and an optical lens, retained in a casing on a flexible wiring board. SOLUTION: A locating unit and a fixing unit for the casing and the flexible wiring board are separated in a process, wherein the casing is fixed to the flexible wiring board, the positioning unit and a fixing unit for the casing and the flexible wiring board are provided separately, and the locating unit is separated from the solid-state image pickup device, after fixing the casing to manufacture the solid-state image pickup device.
