PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity receiver that substantially selects an antenna, is stable and sufficiently effective. SOLUTION: In this diversity receiver provided with a plurality of antennas for receiving a signal subjected to OFDM modulation, variable attenuators 9 to 12 respectively attenuate signals received from antennas 1 to 4, the respective attenuated outputs are combined, an orthogonal detector 16 orthogonally detects a combined output to obtain baseband I and Q signals, a guard correlator 20 detects a correlation in a guard interval period of the baseband I and Q signals, and the attenuation quantity of the variable attenuators is changed in a period corresponding to a guard interval section on the basis of either a modulation system of the received signal or the moving speed of the diversity receiver under the control of a diversity control circuit 23 depending on whether the peak level of a correlation output in the guard interval period increases.
