PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency and reliability in comparing two sequence circuits. SOLUTION: Sequence circuit data stipulating two sequence circuits are prepared with mnemonic codes, and the sequence circuits are compared in the state of digital data. The stages of a sequence ladder circuit stipulated by the sequence circuit data are compared one by one in descending order from the top, and parts which are different from each other are stored in a difference part storage. After the comparison is finished, each different part of the two sequence circuits is displayed as the sequence ladder circuit on a display, and the result of the comparison is output from a printer. The result of the comparison can be output in the state of digital data. The whole sequence ladder circuit stipulated by the sequence circuit data can be displayed, and the different parts can be displayed in a mode different from the mode in which parts except the different parts are displayed.
