PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of a fuel supply time by accurately predicting the remaining burnable time of a cartridge burning appliance. SOLUTION: Combustion coefficients K1, K2 and K3 in proportion to combustion outputs P1, P2 and P3 are set, combustion times T1, T2 and T3 for each combustion output from the initial fuel full filling to a fuel empty are measured, and combustion output times Nt1=k1×T1, Nt2=K2×T2, and Nt3=K3×T3 are obtained. Then, a reference total combustion output time NtK=Nt1+Nt2+ Nt3 is calculated. Next, combustion output times T4, T5 and T6 at the time of a second fuel full filling are measured by using the second fuel full filling and, as in the first case, Nt4=K1×T4, Nt5=K2×T5, and Nt6=K3×T6 are calculated. Next, a constant total combustion output time NtT=Nt4+Nt5+Nt6 is obtained, and the ratio of the constant total combustion output time to the reference total combustion output time or a difference therebetween is calculated to predict the fuel consumption rate or the remaining burnable time, and the results are displayed on a display part.
