<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, method, and system for detecting a vehicle for improving detection accuracy of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The device for detecting the vehicle 20 is provided with a vehicle detecting part 23 having a background image forming function for forming a high luminance background image, and a low luminance background image having a luminance value lower than that of the high luminance background image as a background image, a difference detecting function for detecting a background difference on the basis of a difference of luminance values of a photographed image and the high luminance background image when the luminance value of the photographed image is higher than the luminance value of the high luminance background image, and a difference of the luminance values of the photographed image and the lower luminance background image when the luminance value of the photographed image is lower than the luminance value of the low luminance background image, and a vehicle detecting function for detecting the vehicle 3 in a photographed area 2 on the basis of the background difference detected by a difference detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
