PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To answer an incoming call in conformity with conditions of a terminal including a modem 4 for a receiving client without keeping a caller waiting for a long time, nor resulting in failure of answering the call, in a service system in which if the incoming call arrives during dialup connection, a client terminal 1 is notified of that effect from a telephone network 5 via a server device 2, the dialup connection is disconnected by operating an answer button of the client terminal 1, and the server device 2 makes a client's communication terminal b 32 answer the incoming call via the telephone network 5.

SOLUTION: The client terminal 1 measures a time spent for disconnecting the dialup connection, and keeps the measured dialup disconnection time till a next notification. On a next occasion of answering the incoming call, the client terminal 1 notifies the server device 2 of the dialup disconnection time. The server device 2 receives the dialup disconnection time from the client terminal 1 and holds the incoming call for a time corresponding to the dialup disconnection time.
