PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scanning optical device and an image forming apparatus using the same by which the curve of a scanning line on a surface to be scanned is reduced even in the case of using a low-accuracy reflection element having the surface waviness such as a polish-less mirror, and which is suitable for high-definition printing that image deterioration such as pitch irregularity and color slurring is not caused. SOLUTION: The scanning optical device is equipped with a 1st optical element 4 converting luminous flux emitted from a light source means 1 into a line image long in a main scanning direction, a deflection element 5 deflecting the luminous flux converted by the 1st optical element so as to perform scanning, 2nd and 3rd optical elements 51 and 62 forming an image on the surface to be scanned 8 with the luminous flux deflected to perform scanning by the deflection element, and the reflection element 7 arranged between the 2nd and the 3rd optical elements and reflecting the luminous flux. In the device, the reflection surface of the reflection element and the surface to be scanned are nearly optically conjugate each other on a subscanning cross sectional plane. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
