PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a zoom lens easily provided with a constitution for deflecting an optical path and consisting of a small number of lenses though it has high optical specification performance. SOLUTION: The zoom lens has: a moving lens group B (G2) having positive refractive power and moving only to an object side in power variation from a wide angle end to a telephoto end; a fixed lens group A (G1) arranged nearer toward the object side than the lens group B, having negative refractive power and fixed at the time of variable power; and a 3rd lens group C (G3) moving in a locus different from that of the lens group B in power variation toward the image side of the lens group B. The lens group A is constituted of a negative lens, a catoptric element P and a positive lens having the absolute value of refractive power smaller than the negative lens in this order from the object side.
