PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized inexpensive rotating angle sensor. SOLUTION: A sectoral rotor 2 is fitted to a rotating shaft Sh at a specified axial position and a core member 3 having an exciting coil 3b annularly stored in the core body 3a thereof is buried in the rotor 2 on the tip part upper surface thereof. A sensing member 4 arranged over the core member 3 opposite to each other forms an arc shape along the moving direction of the core member 3, and the width thereof continuously decreases or increases along the moving direction of the core member 3. Accordingly, as the core member 3 is moved by the rotation of the rotor 2, the width of the sensing member 4 forming a magnetic circuit in association with the exciting coil 3b is continuously decreased or increased, the magnitude of an eddy current produced there is varied, and the impedance of the exciting coil 3b is varied. As a result, the rotating angle of the rotor 2 can be measured by measuring the amount of the variation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
