<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which can make displays of high quality in a plurality of different display modes as a display device which makes displays in different display modes. <P>SOLUTION: This display device has colored layers of a plurality of different colors and makes color displays in a 1st display mode and a 2nd display mode. The display device has a 1st area 38 where a display is made by using primary color light transmitted through at least one of the colored layers of the different colors and a 2nd area 40 where a display is made by using secondary color light transmitted through at least two of the colored layers of the different colors, the 1st area is displayed in the 1st display mode and the 2nd area is displayed in the 2nd display mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
