<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MPEG conversion system which can convert a transmitted digital video signal into MPEG data without taking an excess disk space with a high image quality without low speed shot even by a low-speed personal computer, and can automatically obtain the MPEG data by temporarily allowing to be left for a predetermined time, and to provide a converter and a recording medium for storing a conversion type software. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of MPEG converting a digital video signal sent from a digital video camera into a personal computer into the MPEG data and writing the signal in a data holding unit when the capacity of a working area becomes full, the MPEG conversion system commands a camera stop, simultaneously reads a tape position at that time by a time code of the tape, stores the tape position, excessively rewinds the tape to a previously commanded tape position, and then stops the tape. When a free space occurs in the working capacity, the system starts regenerating of the camera. When the tape accurately reaches the stopping position of the tape in which the tape is previously stored, the system generates a command for starting capturing of the digital video signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
