PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method of a film carrier tape for electronic component mounting which enables rapid and accurate quality inspection such as the electrical disconnection and short circuit of a wiring pattern without raising resolving power, even if stain exists on the surface of the film carrier tape for electronic component mounting, and to provide an inspection device therefor. SOLUTION: The defect of a wiring pattern of a lead of the film carrier tape for electronic component mounting is detected by transmitting transmission light to a film carrier tape for electronic component mounting.
