PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct inclination of the optical axis at high speed with a low electric consumption without twisting a suspension wire. SOLUTION: The optical pickup actuator is equipped with a damper base (suspension wire supporting part) (22A) for the purpose of supporting the movable section including a lens holder (12A) for holding an objective lens (11), through a plurality of suspension wires (341-344), so as to make the section displaceable in the focusing direction (F) and the tracking direction (Tr), and also equipped with an actuator base (21A) for rockably supporting this damper base. In this optical pickup actuator, tilt driving devices (41, 46, 47) drive the damper base, relative to the actuator base, in the tilting direction around the rocking axis that extends in a prescribed direction (S) orthogonally crossing both the focusing direction (F) and the tracking direction (Tr).
