PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolysis-type gas conversion device, which stably converts a moisture content into gases in a short time after starting the gas conversion operation, when operating it intermittently or after a long time of a shutdown state, and keeps a nearly stable gas conversion amount through the operating period. SOLUTION: In the electrolysis-type gas conversion device which connects a conjugant 8 of electrochemical elements having an anode 1 and a cathode 2 each provided with a catalytic layer on a substrate consisting of an electroconductive porous body, and a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 3 arranged between these two electrodes, with a direct current power supply 6, and converts a moisture content to the ozone gas, the oxygen gas or the hydrogen gas, by applying a direct-current voltage to the above conjugant of the electrochemical elements, this device comprises means 20, 21 and 22 for controlling the power source so as to apply a predetermined constant voltage for a predetermined time from a starting time of the gas conversion operation to the above conjugant 8 of the electrochemical elements, and then pass a predetermined constant current to it.
