摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for measuring core position of an optical member array capable of easily and precisely measuring the core position of an optical member (for example, optical fiber and lens) on a substrate. SOLUTION: A core position measuring apparatus 1 for an optical fiber array 2 comprises a stage 10 which moves, in the prescribed direction, the optical fiber array 2 where one or more optical fibers 3 are aligned and fixed, a light source 20 which projects white light to one end face of the optical fiber 3, an imaging means 30 which images the exit light out of the other end face side of the optical fiber 3, and a control part 40 which controls position of the stage 10 and the imaging means 30 and measures position of a core of each optical fiber 3 with the image taken by the imaging means 30. The control part 40 controls position of the stage 10 and the imaging means 30 by calculating an imaging distance (beam west) at which the diameter of the exit light, displayed on the image, at the other end face of the optical fiber 3 comes to be minimum.
