A liquid storage device, especially for collecting rainwater and recirculated water (V) and storing it in the open air, comprises a watertight reservoir (1, 1), a cover layer extending over the liquid surface in order to cover at least some of the liquid in the reservoir and a relatively rigid edge part for keeping the cover layer under a variable tension.
