PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve the problem that, in a vibration insulating device composed of a spring and a friction damper and a conventional friction damper to generate a friction force by exerting a specified press force on a friction surface, since the friction force is constant not depending upon relative displacement between a table and a base, when the relative displacement is decreased and the restoration force of the spring is decreased to a value below the friction force, return operation is stopped and a position is deviated. SOLUTION: A table on which an object to be base-isolated is loaded and a base situated on a foundation are connected by a linear slider. One end of the spring is connected to the under surface of the table and the other end is connected to a contact member rotatable around a hinge axis situated on the upper surface of the base, and the contact member is structured in a manner to nip a friction plate situated on the under surface of the table. This constitution, since a friction force is changed in proportion to relative displacement between the table and the base, prevents the occurrence of displacement in a position.
