PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent excessive heating due to wrong setting of a reference value in a heating control device which can set a plurality of reference values corresponding to a plurality of heating objects in detecting short circuit of a thermo couple. SOLUTION: The heating control device having a temperature sensor 2 for detecting heating temperature at a heating object and a reference value setting circuit 5 capable of setting a plurality of reference values concerning to temperature rise rate, detects a short circuit of the temperature sensor 2 based on the preset reference values and performs feedback control so as to make the heating temperature conform to the target temperature. In the device, a reference value correction means (arithmetic circuit 4, comparison circuit 6, heat-up domain detection circuit 7 and rewrite circuit 8) which corrects a reference value to a correct one when a reference value for a heating object of a larger heat capacity is set for a prescribed heating object by mistake, is provided as a control means. Therefore, the short circuit in the temperature sensor is surely detected, heating control is desirably performed and the excessive heating can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
