The invention relates to a reamer (20) comprising a guiding rod (22) which has a longitudinal axis of rotation and a cutting tool (30) which protrudes slightly relative to a surface of said rod (22) and is mounted between two guiding sections (24a, 24b) of the rod (22). The reamer comprises adjusting means which can displace the cutting tool (30) towards the outside of the guiding rod (22), allowing the reaming diameter to be varied in a controlled manner (22). Said reamer can be used for reaming the axis hole of a piston.
