METHOD FOR FABRICATING POLARIZED BEAM SPLITTER AND THE POLARIZED BEAM SPLITTER, HOLOGRAM LASER UNIT, AND OPTICAL PICKUP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabricating method which lowers the cost of a polarized beam splitter by improving the yield and by which the polarized beam splitter with high reliability can be fabricated.

SOLUTION: In the method for fabricating the polarized beam splitter consisting of a fabricating process of separating a plurality of polarized beam splitter formed of an optically anisotropic film 23 having diffraction gratings in an uneven shape on an optically transparent substrate wafer 22, an ordinary or extraordinary light-beam direction of the optically anisotropic film is detected in a process of forming the diffraction gratings after the optically anisotropic film 23 is stuck on the optically transparent substrate wafer 22. Further, the optically anisotropic film 23 on the optically transparent substrate wafer 22 has an orientation flat showing one of the ordinary and extraordinary light-beam directions.
