<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polymer electrolyte type fuel cell at low temperatures and in a short time, with a high output, high efficiency and high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: In the method, an electrolyte membrane/electrode joint body is formed by transferring a catalyst layer formed on a support onto a polymer electrolyte membrane.
