The shelving or rack comprises a generally upright rack with a base and opposite sides. Several tubular elements are fastened to and extend between the sides. A separating element extends between tubular elements and has fastening means for fastening to the tubular elements at or adjacent opposite ends of the separating elements. At least one of the fastening devices has two arc shaped elements rotatably connected to each other by a hinge. Each set of arc shaped elements is held elastically by the separating element between the rotary connection and an opposite end of the arc shaped element.
