<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for displaying advertisement on a TV screen. <P>SOLUTION: The system is applied in an environment where a set-top box is connected to a TV. The set-top box is also connected to a network, and the TV screen receives advertisement information from the network, and is capable of displaying an image of the received advertisement information on the TV screen.
