PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk having excellent durability even if a protective film is made thin so as to have≤4 nm film thickness. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk having a magnetic metal film, the carbon protective film and a fluorine-containing lubrication film which are successively provided on a non-magnetic substrate is characterized in that the carbon protective film consists of a DLC film having≤4 nm film thickness and the ratio of absorption intensity caused by a C-H bond to absorption intensity caused by a C-F bond of the lubrication film in the vicinity of 2,920 cm-1measured by a FT-IR using an ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) method is in the range of 0.035 to 0.060.
