PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission with a radial bearing supporting a power roller and having improved durability. SOLUTION: The toroidal continuously variable transmission comprises a power roller 8 held between an input disc 2 and an output disc 4 and a thrust bearing 26 having an outer ring 30 which is provided between the power roller 8 and an inner periphery face 6a of a trunnion 6 and holds balls 29 together with the power roller 8, for pivotally supporting a load on the power roller 8 in a thrusting direction. An cylindrical protruded portion 43 protruded to the side of the outer ring 30 with its inner periphery face forming a portion of the inner periphery face of an insertion hole 8c of the power roller 8 is provided on an inner end face 8c of the power roller 8 at the side of the outer ring 30.
