<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of contrast in an electroluminescent display device. <P>SOLUTION: The display device has at least one electroluminescent element formed on a flat plate having an outside light reflection restraining function. The outside light reflection restraining function includes at least one out of a polarization function, a reflection restraining function, an anti-glare function, and a light-shielding function.
