<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage a memory for icon data downloaded to an operation part to be used efficiently, to increase the number of displayable icons, and to reduce a data transfer time from a main body side so as to improve operationality of a GUI when realizing a mechanism for displaying icons from an application generated in the main body side on the GUT operation part. <P>SOLUTION: The operation part receives data of the icon from the main body side via a communication means 10 and writes each data of the icons such as width, height, the number of colors and icon pattern into a memory area of the RAM reserved in a RAM30R5 for each icon to manage. The efficiency is improved by adopting a method which releases the used memory area of the icon data immediately at the completion of the display or a method which switches to the releasable state. The latter method enables the transition from the releasable state to a release to be executed in the order of addresses or in the order of the transition to the releasable state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
