PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible image recording medium capable of easy color tone control and a recording method therefor. SOLUTION: The reversible image recording medium has a structure obtained by forming on a supporting substrate (1) three photosensitive layers (2)-(4) separately containing mutually different thermally irreversible photochromic compounds and disposing photosensitive layers (5)-(6) containing a thermally reversible photochromic compound between the photosensitive layers (2)-(4). The photosensitive layers (5)-(6) are utilized as visible light shielding layers and an image pattern is selectively recorded in the photosensitive layers (2)-(4) separately containing thermally irreversible photochromic compounds.
