PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform a defrosting operation, to shorten a period of the defrosting operation, and to suppress generation of refrigerant noise. SOLUTION: When performing a reverse cycle defrosting operation with air as a heat source, and if the length of a refrigerant pipe 20 is larger than the predetermined value, a controller 70 sets the opening of an indoor electric expansion valve 15 in a predetermined period after starting the reverse cycle defrosting operation to be a full-open condition as a first opening, and sets the opening of the indoor electric expansion valve 15 to be an intermediate opening which is a second opening smaller than the first opening after the elapse of the predetermined period.
