PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blind nut which can be tightened by a press without using a dedicated blind nut tightening tool. SOLUTION: This blind nut 1 comprises an integrated body of plastically deformable material such as a metal comprising a hollow female thread 2, a hollow tubular part 3 continuous from the female thread 2, and a flange 5 formed at the end of the tubular part and having an opening continuous with a hollow in the tubular part. The tubular part 2 is inserted into an installation hole 13 in a counter member 11, and a part 17 of the tubular part 2 is buckling-deformed to hold the counter member between a deformed part and the flange for fixing the female thread 2 to the counter member. In the female thread 2, a part 7 of a prescribed axial length from an end 6 toward the tubular part is formed thin without having the thread have a larger inner diameter than the other part 9 of the female thread.
