PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Japanese paper-made slat for blind and a method of manufacturing it capable of giving off a profound and calm indoor atmosphere having the soft external appearance and warm feeling free of pollution of global environment even if solid waste treatment or incineration treatment is made. SOLUTION: The Japanese paper-made slat 1 for blind comprises narrow width fabrics consisting of the warp 1a made of a Japanese paper thread and, at the same time, the weft 1b made of a synthetic fibrous thread such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester or the like and a natural fiber such as a hemp yarn, a cotton yarn or the like. The weft 1b made of the Japanese-paper thread having a diameter thinner than that of the Japanese paper-made warp 1a can be used, and materials used for the weft 1b are not limited.
