PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking device capable of offering a high locking effect and also permitting retrofitting to a play base or the like. SOLUTION: One end of a wire 29 inserted to a wire tube is fixed to an attaching piece. The attaching piece is fixed to a movable portion of a locking mechanism. The other end of the wire 29 is fixed to a slider 26 inside a lock mechanism portion 57. The slider 26 has a linking claw 28 on its bottom surface, and when a locking claw 37 is protruded from an actuator 27, the lock claw 37 is linked to a linking claw 28 and the slider 26 cannot be moved forward. Thus the locking mechanism cannot be moved so that the mechanism can be kept to a lock state. On the contrary, when an electric magnet 36 is excited and the lock claw 37 is retracted from the actuator 27, the end portions of the slider 26 and the wire 29 become movable and then the locking mechanism can be moved in the unlocking direction.
