PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint, enabling quick and smooth absorption of movement of a skeleton and installation in a gap between skeletons regardless of the status of the skeleton. SOLUTION: In this expansion joint 1, the rear end part of a cover material 4 is connected to one skeleton 2B through a slide member 5, the slide member 5 is slidably fitted to a moving rail member 6 in the longitudinal direction of the gap between the skeletons, the moving rail member 6 is connected to a rail receiving member 7 connected to the skeleton 2B through a fixing member 25 to be moved in the direction of depth of the gap between the skeletons by a connecting shaft 8 and a stopper 10. This joint can be smoothly moved to the movement in any direction, and it is excellent in view of strength so that it can be installed regardless of the skeleton status. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
