PURPOSE: A method of controlling abnormal condition of an ice machine for a refrigerator is provided to maximize the efficiency in the use by deciding and controlling abnormal condition of the ice machine. CONSTITUTION: A method of controlling abnormal condition of an ice machine for a refrigerator comprises steps of starting manufacture of ice if water supply to an ice manufacture vessel is finished and deciding whether predetermined time has passed; driving a picking machine, sensing the time required for making ice, and deciding whether the sensed time is within a range of set time; repeating from the first step if the decided result of the second step is within the range of the set time, and sensing the room temperature of the refrigerator and deciding whether the room temperature is within a range of set temperature; determining the ice machine is out of order if the decided result of the third step is within the range of the set temperature, and informing a user of abnormality; driving a compressor if the decided result of the third step is not within the range of the set temperature, and deciding whether the room temperature is within the range of the set temperature again; and repeating the fifth step if the decided result of the fifth step is not within the range of the set temperature, and finishing if the decided result of the fifth step is within the range of the set temperature.
