PURPOSE: A hoisting system for a water gate is provided to promote the convenience on use and to minimize nose caused by operation. CONSTITUTION: The hoisting system for a water gate comprises: a manual power generator(20) containing a primary rotary shaft(36) placed on one side of a housing and a handle(4) attached to the primary rotary shaft(36); an electromotive power generator(22) placed perpendicular to the manual power generator(20) and connected mutually by a worm(66) and a worm wheel(50); a power transmission unit(26) containing a secondary rotary shaft to transfer electric power toward one way by taking rotary force from the primary rotary shaft(36), and a third rotary shaft connected on the same line as the secondary rotary shaft by interposing clutch assemblies(110); a brake unit(28) attached to the rear end of the third rotary shaft; a speed reducer(30) composed of many gears to reduce the rotary force transferred from the secondary rotary shaft; a water gate reciprocation unit(32) composed of a rack bar(184) and a pinion(182) to convert the rotary force transferred from the speed reducer(30) into vertical rectilinear reciprocation.
