An inexpensive solar heat cutoff glass for reducing the heat load due to solar radiation without marring the transparency to visible light that glass intrinsically has. Formed by application on one side of a glass substrate is a coating having a visible light transmittance larger than that of the glass substrate and having a solar heat absorbance and a radiation heat absorbance in the wavelength band of normal temperature heat radiation both smaller than those of the glass substrate. This solar heat cutoff glass is so disposed that the coating surface faces to the inside of a closed space, thus the heat radiation from the glass heated by the solar heat toward the inside is cut off, and the heat load of the inside is reduced.
|
