An internal combustion engine e.g. diesel or petrol engine has a fuel supply system which atomises fuel and releases this to passages feeding the cylinders. The passages esp. incorporate inward-inclined petal-like vortex generator tabs (2). The vortex generator tabs consist essentially of a strip of sheet material with a regular series of curved slits (1) at an angle alpha of 30[deg] to 70[deg] to the passage transverse axis.
