The equipment raises and lowers a prefabricated garage with a closed floor by means of a jack, pref. hydraulic. It incorporates a telescopic cross-member (15), extensible in both directions, mounted in front of the open end of the garage etc. A jack (19) is mounted at each of the extensible ends, and rigid cranked arms (14) extend from the cross-member inside the garage and are fixed to it. The cross-member can comprise internal and external tubes, the cranked arms fitting round the outer tube and sliding along it. The arms can each have an upper boss fitting in an opening in the garage wall, and a lower pivoting one passing through one in the floor.
