PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for dehulling sesame are provided to completely dehull sesame by one dehulling process only, prevent dehulled residue from sticking to sesame and dehull a large amount of sesame promptly. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for dehulling sesame comprises a hopper(30) into which sesame is supplied; a supporting plate(40) comprising vibrator(41) for spreading sesame widely on the supporting plate(40) so that sesame is not piled up thereon after receiving sesame from the lower side of the hopper(30); a silicon belt conveyor(50) for horizontally transferring sesame by receiving sesame in the widely spread state without piling up from the supporting plate(40); a silicon roller(60) installed at the upper side of the silicon belt conveyor(50) so that the surface of the silicon roller(60) is contacted with sesame on the silicon belt conveyor(50), and the silicon roller(60) is rotated in a direction opposite to a proceeding direction of the silicon belt conveyor(50); and a chafing roller(70) which is installed next to the silicon roller(60) at the upper side of the silicon belt conveyor(50), and in which a plurality of flexible blades(71) formed on the surface of the chafing roller(70) are contacted with sesame on the silicon belt conveyor(50) in such a way that the chafing roller(70) is rotated in the same direction as a proceeding direction of the silicon belt conveyor(50).
