The invention relates to a method for finishing blanks (Z) that are obtained from sheet metal material (M) and to a device that is suitable for carrying out said method. According to said method: the blanks (Z) are cut out from the sheet metal material (M), following at least part of the contour of said blanks (Z), in such a way that the blanks (Z) remain connected to the remaining residual material (M) in a non-positive, positive and/or material fit: the residual sheet metal material (M), together with the blanks (Z) held in said residual sheet metal material (M), is fed to a finishing device (6), in which the finishing of the sheet metal material (M) and the blanks (Z) is carried out, whilst the blanks are held by the residual sheet metal material; and the blanks (Z) are then separated from the residual sheet metal material (M). This allows the cost-effective production of sheet metal blanks, which are provided with a surface coating on their upper and lower side that is also present on the cut edges. |
