<p>The folding blade terminal of the present invention (100, 200, 300, 400) includes a planar base (102, 202, 302, 402) and elongated terminal blade (108, 208, 308) that are operatively connected through an upward projection fold feature (114, 214, 314) and terminal blade angle hinge feature (116, 216, 316). In use, the folding blade terminal (100, 200, 300, 400) facilitates point-of-use final terminal forming and integral mechanical pull testing while producing a uniform solder fillet around the perimeter of the terminal base (102, 302, 302, 402), eliminating the risk of stress points caused by irregular solder fillets. Alternate embodiments of the invention provide a terminal lock (230) disposed at the opposite end of the terminal to prevent the unintentional removal of a box terminal (700) from the terminal blade (108, 208, 308). Another embodiment of the invention provides a double folding blade terminal (300). Each of the embodiments of the present invention can be formed to have particular profile heights as required.</p> |
