This invention relates to a quadrature oscillator comprising a first voltage controlled oscillator and a second voltage controlled oscillator, wherein each voltage controlled oscillator comprises an output terminal; an adjustment circuit; and an amplitude detector connected to said output terminal of said first oscillator and connected to said output terminal of said second oscillator. Said adjustment circuit being arranged to vary a load of said at least one of said voltage controlled oscillators utilizing an amplitude difference between amplitudes of said output terminals determined by said amplitude detector, in order to minimize said amplitude difference.
